업그레이드!는 미디어 아티스트, 큐레이터, 관련분야 종사자들 간의 정기모임입니다. 다른 작가들의 작업을 깊이있게 바라보는 기회와 더불어 미디어 아트 분야의 다양한 이슈들을 함께 나누는 포럼으로서, 편안한 대화와 창의로운 협력의 기회를 모색하고자 합니다. 매회 국내외 작가 한두분의 작업 프레젠테이션과 퍼포먼스를 갖고 있습니다. 업그레이드!는 1999년 뉴욕을 중심으로 한 미디어작가들의 모임으로 출발한 이후 뉴욕의 미디어아트 센터 Eyebeam에서 지속되고 있습니다. 이후 뱅쿠버(2003), 보스턴(2005) 등에 이어 2005년 4월부터 합류한 서울에 이르기까지, 현재 전세계 20여개 도시에서 업그레이드가 열리고 있으며 작가와 큐레이터 간의 국제적인 네트워크를 만들어가고 있습니다. 허서정 The Upgrade! Seoul is a monthly gathering for media artists and curators hosted by Art Center Nabi in Seoul, Korea. The Upgrade! series is a forum for the presentation of new work to foster dialogue and create opportunities for collaboration within the media art community. At each meeting one or two artists present work in progress and participate in a discussion. The Upgrade! was started by Yael Kanarek in 1999, currently hosted by Eyebeam in New York City. Having new affiliates in Vancouver (2003, curated by Kate Armstrong), Montreal (2004, curated by tobias c. van Veen), and Boston (2005, curated by Jo-Anne Green ), Upgrade!
